FACILITATOR MASTER DOC
Note for Chapter Leaders: Keep this document open on your phone or a secondary device while projecting the Meeting Guides Hub to the room. If the school Wi-Fi blocks the website, you can use this document as your offline backup script.
GUIDE 01: CAPITAL ALLOCATION
Goal: Transform how students view money. Move them away from seeing money solely as a tool for buying things, and help them understand it as a tool to buy assets and create leverage.
Phase 1 & 2 Discussion Checks
- Icebreaker: Call on 2 to 3 people to share their dumbest purchase out loud. Keep the energy light and humorous.
- Dilemma Check: Ensure the room recognizes that both options cost the exact same amount of money today. The difference is entirely based on what that object can do for you 12 months from now.
ROOM CHALLENGE SLIDE REQUIREMENTS
The $100 Micro-Business Pitch. Give the teams 8 minutes to create a 3-slide presentation on Google Slides to pitch to the room.
- Slide 1: The Purchase. What exactly did you buy with your $100? Provide a specific item and an estimated cost. (Example: A $60 power washer from Facebook Marketplace).
- Slide 2: The Target Customer. Who are you selling to first? Be specific. (Example: Neighbors with dirty driveways in a specific subdivision).
- Slide 3: The Path to $200. How many sales do you need to make to double your initial $100 investment? (Example: 4 driveways cleaned at $50 each).
GUIDE 02: TIME CURRENCY
Goal: Help students realize that their youth and low financial overhead give them a massive advantage. Time is their most abundant asset, and it should be allocated intentionally.
Phase 1 & 2 Discussion Checks
- Icebreaker: Get 3 quick answers. Highlight how many hours are lost to mindless scrolling versus activities we actually actively choose.
- Dilemma Check: Discuss when minimum wage jobs are necessary (helping family, paying for a car) versus when they are a trap (working just to buy trendy clothes instead of learning a skill that will pay more later).
ROOM CHALLENGE SLIDE REQUIREMENTS
The Time Audit. Give pairs 8 minutes to interview each other, audit their week, and create a 2-slide summary to present to the room.
- Slide 1: The Leaks. Identify the 3 biggest "Time Leaks" in your partner's schedule from the past week. (Example: 2 hours of TikTok before bed, 1 hour sitting in the car after school).
- Slide 2: The Re-Allocation. If you reclaimed 4 hours next week, what specific skill or project would your partner spend those 4 hours on? (Example: 4 hours learning basic Python).
GUIDE 03: MARKETING DEFENSE
Goal: Teach students to recognize when they are being manipulated by digital marketing and social status games. Financial literacy is also about keeping the money you already have.
Phase 1 & 2 Discussion Checks
- Icebreaker: Ask if they still use that item today or if the excitement faded after a week.
- Dilemma Check: Ensure students distinguish between looking rich (high spending) and being wealthy (unspent assets and financial freedom).
ROOM CHALLENGE SLIDE REQUIREMENTS
The Viral Brand Teardown. Give teams 8 minutes to pick a viral brand and create a 3-slide presentation to deconstruct their marketing.
- Slide 1: The Target. What brand did you pick, and what insecurity or status goal are they targeting in young people?
- Slide 2: The Dark Pattern. What trick do they use to force people to buy quickly? (Example: Artificial scarcity, limited drops, countdown timers).
- Slide 3: The Defense. How can a smart consumer enjoy this product space without falling for the hype?
GUIDE 04: THE GEN Z JOB MARKET
Goal: Shift the focus from relying entirely on a single corporate employer to building a robust portfolio of skills that offer multiple streams of income and ultimate security.
Phase 1 & 2 Discussion Checks
- Icebreaker: Let the room brainstorm. Examples include Prompt Engineer, TikTok Manager, Newsletter Operator, Drone Operator.
- Dilemma Check: True job security does not come from a company; it comes from having a skill set that multiple people will gladly pay you for if you lose your main job.
ROOM CHALLENGE SLIDE REQUIREMENTS
The Skill Stack Builder. Give pairs 8 minutes to design a custom career path for their partner and create a 3-slide pitch.
- Slide 1: The Passion. What is one thing your partner already loves doing or talking about? (Example: College Basketball).
- Slide 2: The High-Value Tool. What technical or business skill could they learn to pair with that passion? (Example: Data Visualization).
- Slide 3: The Stacked Offer. What micro-service or digital product could they build this month combining the two? (Example: A newsletter visualizing weekly college basketball stats for sports bettors).
